1970 IH SCOUT 800A "Aristocrat" PROFESSIONALLY BUILT ROCK CRAWLER
Purchased partially completed in 2006 with professionally installed Spring over conversion, reversed shackles in front; Scout II axles, 4.27 gears and power lock rear, 4 wheel disc brakes w/ correct master cylinder; Rebuilt 800 springs; Front axle relocated 2" forward for better approach angle and reduced fender interference; Spicer Type CV driveshaft in front; Square tube Z-ed drag link with replaceable ends; Setup for dual shocks all around; Scout II power steering gear and early pickup power steering pump and bracket.
Represented at purchase as a low mileage, balanced, John Comer (Gryphin Auto) 345, it has a mild cam, is fitted w/Hooker headers, Pertronix ignition, MSD coil and Edelbrock carberator; Scout II T-19 4-speed transmission and Dana 20 transfer case.
Jim Potter of Super Scout Specialists completed the assembly of the vehicle and debugged it; he fully rewired the Scout with an 8 space ATO fuse box, installed Electric dual windscreen wipers, and installed an electric fuel pump with toggle and relay for the previously installed 20 gallon fuel cell. Jim repaired all gauges with the rewiring and all gauges work.
The body is in as purchased condition with a mostly rust-free body and new paint. The gas tank openings were removed before painting and were poorly done. Most of the Aristocrat stuff is there, but not all. Roof rack, broken mounts, Courtesy lights, Super Scout type roll bar with front cage add-on, Modified Scout II seat bases with Scout II mid back bucket seats, Aristocrat chrome bar rear seat, all new seals, rubbers, weather stripping and felts, new taillight lens and new markers.
