I have owned this vehicle since 1990. In the late 1990's I under took a complete restoration of the body. Many body parts were replaced -- either with new parts (where available) or with rust free used parts, and the vehicle was completed repainted. Other improvements included new gas tank, factory skid plate (massive!), step rear bumper, hi-back seats, center console, roll bar, roof rack. Due to Scout's innate tendency to rust, this vehicle has been garaged ever since,
The engine is original with the TQ 4 bbl carburetor (rebuilt about 5 years ago). The exhaust system from the catalytic converter on back has been replaced.
There are only two areas where I did not complete restoration. I did not have the new front seats re-upholstered (drivers side is unsightly) and I did not put in a new floor mat/carpeting as I was debating carpet vs. rubber and never decided.
